Bodog.com Post NFC Odds

28 Oct 2005

COSTA RICA – (PRESS RELEASE) -- A battle for top spot in the NFC East highlights Week 8 in the NFL and Bodog.com bookmakers have posted the odds.

The New York Giants (4-2) opened as 2-point favorites as they prepare to host division rival Washington (4-2) on Sunday.

"The Giants have been a surprising team, but last Sunday's dramatic one-point win over Denver proves they're for real," says Bodog.com Founder and CEO Calvin Ayre, noting New York's stunning 24-23 victory over the Broncos in Week 7. "Let's see if they can carry the momentum from that win into Sunday's showdown against the hot Redskins."

After pounding the San Francisco 49ers 52-17 last week, the Redskins enter the weekend on a roll. With quarterback Mark Brunell and receiver Santana Moss clicking, Washington has proven to be formidable on offense. The Giants, meanwhile, continue to improve under second-year quarterback Eli Manning, who displayed patience and skill in the winning drive against Denver. Two streaking teams fighting for a division lead usually means great football, and this contest should be no different.

The third team atop the NFC East, the Philadelphia Eagles, is also involved in a key game. Philadelphia (4-2) travels to Denver to take on the AFC West-leading Broncos (5-2). With Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens leading the way, the Eagles (4-2) will aim to fly away with a victory. The Broncos, looking to rebound from last week's disappointing loss, are listed as 3.5-point favorites.
