Bob the Butcher signs with LAPT
LONDON, England -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Vega Promotional Systems, Inc. (Pink Sheets: VGPM) today announced it has entered into an Agreement with poker personality, "Bob the Butcher" to provide on-air commentary during the Company's inaugural Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) season.
Vega owns the Right of Personality for Bob Clark, a.k.a. "Bob the Butcher", one of the most colorful poker personalities in the world and plans to include Clark as one of the LAPT's on-air commentators. The plan for the inaugural LAPT 2008 season will include tournaments in eight Latin American countries, including Puerto Rico, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica, with a season ending Tournament of Champions to crown the number one poker player in Latin America.
Vega is currently negotiating with various professional poker players to become host for season one of the Tour. The programming will be produced by Vega and aired throughout Latin America. As Executive Producer for the LAPT, Vega will own 100% of the programming and is currently negotiating for airtime with a major cable provider that would allow the Company to profit from selling its own advertising for the programs. A successful season could provide several million dollars of income to Vega.
The tournaments will be structured as invitational events with players from all over the world able to win seats via online and live local satellite tournaments.
Michael Herron, CEO of Vega stated, "We are very fortunate and excited to have Bob involved in the Tour. We've worked with Bob for quite awhile now and he was the obvious choice to provide commentary during the tournaments. Not only is he one of the most colorful poker personalities in the world, he's a top notch poker player himself and will add a very unique style of commentary. Bob also has many professional poker playing friends and plans to have a few of those friends make cameo appearances during the tournaments."
