Binion's Gambling Hall brings back bingo
The casino's operators dropped bingo a number of years ago but decided to bring it back since few other downtown properties downtown offered it.
It is part of the strategy by owner TLC Casino Enterprises to put games and programs in place to add incremental revenues, spokeswoman Lisa Robinson said.
Binion's will have six bingo sessions a day with 13 games per session.
Although bingo carries with it an image of players with grey hair and hearing aids, Robinson said the inaugural players did not fit any demographic group. She said the casino sees bingo as a way to tap more into the locals market.
In addition, she said, research shows bingo players also tend to park themselves at slot machines for a while.
