BetStars to run betting markets on PokerStars Ambassadors winning PSPC Platinum Passes

27 Apr 2018

(PRESS RELEASE) -- BetStars will be running an array of exciting new markets on the PokerStars Players No Limit Hold’em Championship (PSPC), which kicks off in the Bahamas in January 2019. A further six Platinum Passes will be awarded at EPT Monte Carlo (24 April – 4 May), five during the live event and one via the webstream, presented by PokerStars own Hartigan and Stapes, so it’s well worth those interested in attending the poker event of a lifetime tuning in.

Confirmed ambassadors attending EPT Monte Carlo are:
Igor Kurganov — 14/1
Randy Lew — 28/1
Jake Cody — 20/1
Celina Lin — 33/1
Victor Ramdin — 25/1
Lex Veldhuis — 40/1
Liv Boeree — 25/1
Fatima Moreira de Melo — 40/1
Andre Akkari — 28/1

Igor Kurganov is the favorite ambassador to win a Platinum Pass at EPT Monte Carlo with odds of 14/1. Kurganov’s recent poker success includes winning the PokerStars Championship Barcelona €50,000 Super High Roller for €1,084,100. If Kurganov is successful, he will be joining fellow ambassador Maria Konnikova, who secured her Platinum Pass after winning the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure National Championship, in the Bahamas.

Bets can also be placed on the odds of PokerStars ambassador Platinum Pass winners going on to win or finish in the top 10 or 20 of the PSPC. This market is set to go live over the weekend.

So far, 85 players have won Platinum Passes with Russia leading with nine players, closely followed by the U.K. and Brazil, both with seven.

One of the most recent players to receive a Platinum Pass is Stian Kulseth Ustad from Norway, who won his ticket to paradise from the second iteration of the Sunday Million 12th Anniversary. His current odds are 1,000/1 to win the PSPC. Fintan Hand and Ben ‘Spraggy’ Spragg streamed the action and witnessed the moment Stian secured his Platinum Pass to paradise.

From now until January, BetStars will add new odds for players as they are awarded passes. To help inform your decision, punters can head to the PokerStars Blog for background information about the players who have secured a pass to date.

In addition, punters can also place their bets on the following upcoming sporting events:
  • 5 May, Haye v. Bellew Fight.
  • 19 May, FA Cup Final.
  • 26 May, Champions League Final.
