Betfair loses racing levy case in Australia

AUSTRALIA -- Betfair has lost a legal dispute with two Australian racing bodies, according to The Guardian.

The legal case centres on a 1.5 percent levy the racing bodies introduced on all bets placed on New South Wales races, the report explained.

A Sydney court today ruled in favour of the two racing bodies, but Betfair will likely appeal, The Guardian reported.
