Betcorp Limited to stop accepting US players

Further to the announcement made by the Company on Thursday 12 October 2006 in relation to the passage of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (the "Act") in the USA, the Company can confirm that the Act has been passed into law by the US President.

In response and after taking extensive legal and regulatory advice, the Group has suspended its US operations with immediate effect. The Company will continue to seek clarification of the impact of the Act on the Group's existing US customers and service providers, and the steps that the Company can take to achieve an orderly exit from this market. The Group continues to trade normally with customers in Europe and the rest of the world.

A further announcement covering the impact and resulting future prospects of the Group will be made as soon as practicable.
