Bernard Lee to celebrate eighth anniversary of poker radio show

5 May 2015

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Professional poker player and media personality Bernard Lee will celebrate the eighth anniversary of The Bernard Lee Poker Show this month with special World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event champion interviews, and will give away to one lucky listener a $777 buy-in to a WSOP bracelet event, held in Las Vegas on July 3.

"I am fortunate to interview such accomplished WSOP champions, and am thrilled that my listeners will win several prizes, including a seat into the Lucky 7's WSOP bracelet event," Lee said. "Blaycation and RunGoodGear have really stepped up to make this eighth anniversary celebration extraordinary."

The anniversary shows are presented by Blaycation, a specialty travel company that combines individuals' bucket lists with unique vacations, and poker apparel company RunGoodGear. Lee was named Blaycation's spokesperson earlier this year and has been a member of RunGoodGear's team of professional poker players since 2013.

The Bernard Lee Poker Show airs on Tuesdays on RoundersRadio.com, one of the largest online poker talk radio stations in the world with listeners in more than 85 countries. Podcasts are available on RoundersRadio.com and iTunes.

To commemorate its eighth anniversary, the show will give away 18 prizes. To be eligible to win, you must follow @BernardLeePoker on Twitter and retweet his giveaway announcements. Please use the hashtag #BLPS8. The prizes are as follows:

• Eight Bernard Lee Poker Show T-shirts
• Eight RunGoodGear hats
• One $80 RunGoodGear gift certificate
• One $777 buy-in (not a cash prize) to the Lucky 7's No-Limit Hold’em WSOP bracelet event at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 3.

Blaycation's sponsorship of the WSOP buy-in prize highlights the company's next poker experience, which will be held July 1-6 in Las Vegas, and center around the $777 WSOP bracelet and Main Event.

This month's roster of guests will include three WSOP Main Event champions who are also celebrating a special anniversary this year.

• May 5: Joe Hachem will reflect on the 10th anniversary of his 2005 victory, the same year Lee had his own 13th place finish in the same event.
• May 12: Jonathan Duhamel will remember the 5th anniversary of his 2010 WSOP win, the only November Nine chip leader to do so.
• May 19: Martin Jacobsen will look back one year after his 2014 championship.
• May 26: The champions will explain how to prepare for the WSOP.

Lee, a Wayland, Massachusetts resident, has won more than $2 million and six titles on the tournament circuit since turning pro following his 13th finish in the 2005 WSOP Main Event. Recognized as "the voice of poker in New England" by CardPlayer, Lee is known worldwide as a poker media personality.

The Bernard Lee Poker Show incorporates interviews with poker players and prominent industry personnel with poker news and tips. Previous guests have included WSOP champions Doyle Brunson, Chris Moneymaker, Joseph Hachem, Jonathan Duhamel, Greg Merson and most recently the 2014 champion, Martin Jacobsen; WPT commentator Mike Sexton and Lynn Gilmartin; ESPN commentators Norman Chad and Lon McEachern; poker superstars Daniel Negreanu, Erik Seidel, Dennis Phillips, and Jason Mercier; and members of the 2008 through 2014 WSOP November Nines.

Lee is a poker writer for ESPN.com, CardPlayer and All-In magazines. His two books, The Final Table, Volume I and Volume II, are compilations of the Sunday Boston Herald poker columns he penned for seven years. Lee is also a poker instructor and commentator for the WSOP and New England's Eastern Poker Tour. He is a former co-host of ESPN.com's weekly online poker show, "ESPN Inside Deal."
