Ask Larry: Handling Rude Craps Dealers

23 May 2004

By Larry Edell

Dear Larry,

You indicated that a person could place a pass line bet both before or after the come out roll. Do you mean that after a come out roll you are placing a number, or really making a pass line bet, with possible odds?

R Green

Most casinos will allow you to make a pass line bet AFTER the point is established. This is called a "put" bet. It is up to you whether you add odds or not. The bet is made on the pass line, like a normal pass line bet, and is especially good if the point is a 6 or 8 and you can add 5X or more odds!

Good luck,
Larry

Dear Larry,

Can I remove my don't come bet after it goes to a number, like the 6 or 8?

D. Johnson

Yes, you can remove a don't come bet, but why would you want to? After the don't come point is established, you have the advantage over any number - including the six or eight!

Good luck,
Larry

Dear Larry,

How do you handle a rude dealer?

W. Simms

Tell the pit boss you want to file a complaint. He will give you a short form to fill out and return. You'll need to put the dealer's name on it, so be sure to notice his name tag while playing. When you complain about someone in a casino, you are helping the casino, because they really do not want rude dealers bothering their customers.

Good luck,
Larry
