Ask Frank: The Craps Supersystem
Dear Frank,
I just got done reading your book Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos. I like it a lot. I see you writing a lot of articles on craps that are also good, but I am wondering if the supersystem is the best still and the most logical to making money at the casino, because it seems to me that it is almost impossible to get hurt real bad just because of the 5 count and also if the roller does not roll your point on three consecutive rolls you take your odds off your come bets. I guess I am asking in short is the supersystem still what it seems to be. And is this only system to play? It seems that way to me, but I would like to have the author's expert opinion.
Sincerely,
Robert
Dear Robert,
The Supersystem is one of several ways to bet after the 5-Count. You can use the traditional Pass and Come with odds, which is a mathematically superior bet on random rollers. You can also Place the 6 & 8 and buy the 4 and 10 (if the vig is paid only on winning bets) if you know the shooter is a rhythmic roller or controlled shooter. The Supersystem is good if there are rhythmic rollers at the table but you aren't sure what their signature numbers are.
So, is the Supersystem the best? That's a matter of opinion. However, the 5-Count is the best. Go to my website www.goldentouchcraps.com for an eye-opening study of the 5-Count done by Dr. Don Catlin. Keep in mind that the only way to beat craps in the long run is to develop a controlled throw; but the 5-Count saves you money on all the shooters who hit the deck early.
All the best in and out of the casinos!
Frank
