Americas Cardroom tournament players will now benefit from synchronized breaks

18 Dec 2012

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The days of poker players missing a crucial hand because they had to use the restroom are over. Americas Cardroom today announced the addition of synchronized breaks to its multi-table tournaments. Starting today, all tournaments will pause for five minutes at 55 minutes past every hour. Poker players who love to play in multiple tournaments will now benefit from this latest addition to the software.

"We've been a favorite of cash game grinders for years, and today we're showing tournament players that we take them just as seriously by delivering exactly what they've been asking for," stated Michael Harris, Americas Cardroom spokesperson. "Synchronized breaks will make multi-table tournaments way more enjoyable. We're looking forward to welcoming more tournament players to our tables as we enhance our tournament lineup and software features."

At 55 minutes past the hour, the tournament clock will stop. All hands in play will continue to play out as normal. The five-minute break will commence as soon as all in-play hands in the tournament are complete. The tournament will resume five minutes later and poker players can look forward to another break at 55 minutes past the next hour.

Harris notes that players who play in more than one tournament at once will find synchronized breaks especially beneficial. Instead of each tournament breaking at a different time, all tournaments will break for five minutes simultaneously. That means online poker players seated in more than one tournament will always have a scheduled break to look forward to.

The move comes after Americas Cardroom saw its community expand by record numbers after Black Chip Poker officially joined its poker network. With many new tournament players joining the tables, the addition of synchronized breaks is a welcome one.
