Americas Cardroom sets $200,000 guaranteed OSS II Main Event

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Main Event to the biggest Online Super Series Americas Cardroom (ACR) has ever hosted gets underway this Sunday, January 27th at 7:00 p.m. ET. The $200,000 GTD Prize Pool caps off the largest online poker tournament series that the U.S.-facing network has ever put on. OSS II is guaranteeing $1 million in tournament prize pools this year and it is currently on track to surpass the $1 million mark.

The milestone tournament series for the network has a record $1 million in prize pools over two weeks. "The OSS II has been a great success," commented ACR spokesperson Michael Harris. "The increase in prize pools and traffic on the website over the past year has been extraordinary."

ACR's player traffic has increased dramatically over the past year and is quickly becoming one of the top U.S.-facing rooms. Over the past two years ACR has close to doubled its player base due in large part to a software overhaul, and unique promotional offerings.

The OSS II Main Event is a $200+$15 buy-in no limit Texas Holdem tournament. Satellites are currently running and players can qualify for the Main Event for as little as $0.55. "It's going to be a great tournament for our players," continued Harris. "We're expecting an overlay so players will grab some extra value. We're also running a major 100-seat satellite on the 26th at 8:00 p.m. ET."

The OSS II kicked off on January 13th and had a range of different tournaments for players of all levels and bankrolls. Guaranteed prize pools go from $1,500 to $200,000 and buy-ins from $3+$0.30 to $200+$15.
