Americas Cardroom announces the 50/50 -- two 50k Guaranteed Tournaments on one day
12 Oct 2012
The new progressive rake race awarded 581 players with $50+$5 tournament entries to the $50k Guaranteed Tournament for their participation in the monthly promotion. "The Beast really awards our players by giving them cash incentives and tournament tickets just for playing on our network," said ACR spokesperson Michael Harris. "Not only have distributed over $300,000 to date to players through jackpot contributions, but $150,000 in tournament entries as well."
ACR's biggest weekly tournament is the $200+$15 buy-in $50k Guaranteed Tournament that runs every Sunday at 7:00 p.m. ET. Players can buy in directly to the tournament, qualify via satellite or redeem their player points that they accumulate from playing tournaments and cash games. Now, for the first time on October 14th, ACR will be adding an additional $50k Guaranteed that players who haven't already qualified can buy in directly for only $50+$5. That tournament kicks off at 6:00 p.m. ET.
"It's a very big day for our network and will be great for our players. We're expecting the 50/50 tournament day to drive lots of traffic and create even more games than usual," continued Harris. "It's just a great indicator of the growth and progress our network has made that we can offer two tournaments of this size to our players."
ACR has offered a steady increase in tournament guarantees over the past few months. They recently instituted re-entry tournaments as their standard format, increasing the amount of cash flow into the prize pools. Players can now re-enter tournaments while late registration is open should they be knocked out early. They receive a new seat at a different table just as if they were a brand-new player. As a result, they've raised their nightly guaranteed tournament that runs Monday through Friday to $10k.
Through unique promotions and new formatting, ACR has managed to find creative ways to boost traffic and make the playing experience more enjoyable for the players. The U.S.-facing network has managed to solidify their standing as a competitive, populated online poker room.
