Americas Cardroom today announced that it's adding $90,000 in extra cash leaderboard money to the legendary point races, spread out over six weeks beginning Saturday July 19th.
"This July and August, we're handing out an extra $90,000 to the most dedicated poker players at Americas Cardroom," said Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris. "Our already-rewarding Beast and Sit & Crush leaderboard competitions are getting a big boost and we can't wait to see how the competition unfolds."
Beginning July 19th, Americas Cardroom is topping up the prize pools of The Beast with $10,000 in extra cash each week. The Sit & Crush cash leaderboard will see $5,000 added to its weekly prize pool. The cash is on top of the money that's automatically contributed through rake and tournament fees.
Sit & Crush is a progressive points race that's funded entirely through the poker site's jackpot tables, using players' shared jackpot contribution money. The leaderboard competition gives poker players a new chance to race to the top of a leaderboard for cash prizes and tourney seats each week, just by playing in qualifying Sit & Go tournaments. At the end of each seven-day period, the Sit & Crush prize pool is distributed to players who rank on the weekly leaderboard.
With a new leaderboard each week, Sit & Go players have the opportunity to participate in a brand-new, large-scale Sit & Crush tournament every seven days, winning their way to land-based events like the LPS and the Punta Cana Poker Classic.
The Beast is the biggest progressive rake race in the industry and it is reserved exclusively for cash game players. The Beast's weekly prize pool is fed from a portion of collected rake. The points race for cash game players, which is also a weekly competition, has paid out over $3.5 million to date.
