Alberta tribal commission offers online licenses
ALEXANDER FIRST NATION, Alberta – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Alexander Gaming Commission ("Commission") was established on March 24, 2006 pursuant to the provisions of Alexander First Nation Band Council Resolution 2005.2006.057 and the resulting Alexander Gaming Law. "We are pleased to be able to offer on-line gaming licenses to qualified applicants, and are confident that the regulations will ensure a safe, high quality environment for on-line gamers," said Ms. Savoie, of the Alexander Gaming Commission. Located just 20 minutes from downtown Edmonton, Alberta, Alexander First Nation offers the advantage of doing business in a major North American metropolitan market, in collaboration with a stable and progressive native community and its government – the Chief and Council of Alexander First Nation.
The Commission is empowered to regulate and control gaming and gaming related activities conducted within and from the Alexander First Nation in accordance with the highest principles of honesty and integrity.
Pursuant to the regulatory powers provided to it in the Alexander Gaming Law, the Commission has Regulations Concerning Interactive Gaming (the "Regulations"), designed to ensure that all interactive gaming and gaming related activities conducted within or from the Alexander First Nation satisfies three basic principles:
· Only suitable persons and entities are permitted to operate within Alexander;
· The games offered are fair to the player; and
· Winners are paid.
The Alexander First Nation has also established and empowered Alexander Internet Technologies to facilitate the involvement of Alexander First Nation and its members in internet and technology industries. Alexander Internet Technologies is currently completing construction of phase 1 of a 25,000 square foot state-of-the-art co-location data center.
