Brandon “DrOctagon” Adams is the winner of the $3,200 High Roller Online Bracelet 8-Max event. He topped a field of 593 entries and claimed the first-place prize of $411,561. This is his first WSOP bracelet.
The final table started a little after 2 a.m. and Calvin “Projector52” Anderson was in the lead with eight remaining.
He extended his lead when he got all in preflop with pocket threes against Harsukhpaul “MjMafia” Sangha, who held ace-high. Sangha took home $34,071 on his 18th WSOP cash and his first WSOP final table appearance.
Not long after that, it was Nabil “TheBrownbear” Mohamed Abdien Cardoso sending Lior “Morningowl” Orel to the rail in seventh place. Cardoso had pocket fours against king-high and the low pocket pair held again, sending Orel home with $45,429.
The sixth-place finisher was two-time WSOP bracelet winner Norbert “Balkan500” Szecsi. The Hungarian got all in with nines but Adams flopped trip queens and Szecsi couldn’t find a nine to catch up. He took home $61,653 for his finish on his 23rd cash. He has two first and two second place finishes and now added a sixth at his fifth final table.
Adams was now in the lead five handed with Anderson close behind. The short stack was Michael “VinnyV” Vanier, but a little over 30 big blinds at the time.
Vladimir “Stuey_Haxton” Alexandrov moved up the leaderboard when he raised under the gun, then four-bet shoved after a call and a three-bet.
Anderson took the lead slightly and Alexandrov found himself in third position. Vanie was still the short stack with about 22 big blinds. The next payout would be $85,449 for fifth and there would be a roughly $35,000 payjump for fourth.
Vanier was finally eliminated on a huge hand that saw Adams take a commanding lead as a result. Adams opened under the gun and Vanier shoved his 20 big blinds. Anderson called behind on the button and Adams shoved over the top. Anderson called with queens and could not beat the aces of Adams. Adams shot to the chip lead holding more than 9-million chips.
He would eliminate Anderson shortly after, leaving him three-handed with a three-to-one chip lead against Alexandrov and Cardoso.
Cardoso was making his first final table appearance after just seven cashes. His previous best finish was in the 2016 Monster Stack where he finished 58th. He was in second place with three remaining.
The short stack was Alexandrov, who also booked his best-ever WSOP finish at his first final table. His best finish was this summer in the Marathon, he finished 17th.
It was Alexandrov that fell in third place, and Cardoso was the one who sent him to the rail holding pocket eights against the fives of Alexandrov. That left Cardoso facing a two-to-one chip lead heads up. Both remaining players were playing for their first-ever WSOP bracelet.
Alexandrov took home $173,241 — his largest ever WSOP cash by far.
Cardoso made up a little ground heads up, but Adams was not giving up much ground. He was winning most of the small pots to top over the 9-million chip mark once again.
Eventually, Adams finished his opponent off to claim the $411,561 first prize and his first WSOP bracelet. This win brings his overall WSOP tournament winnings to more than $1.3 million.
