Action 24/7 has Tennessee sports betting license suspended
22 Mar 2021
In addition, the Twitter post from Action 24/7 claimed the decision for the suspension was based “upon unfounded fears of future speculative recurrences of the activity” and that it was a “draconian action.”

Below is the post from Action 24/7 in its entirety:
"The Board today indefinitely suspended 24/7's sports betting operator license for suspicious player deposit activity. This suspicious activity was detected quickly by Action staff and Action swiftly suspended the involved player accounts. Action instituted additional controls to curb the activity, and no further such activity has occurred since. Yet, the Board relied upon unfounded fears of future speculative recurrences of the activity, and took draconian action just as the NCAA Tournament is beginning. Obviously, we are disappointed in the Board's decision, but we will continue to work with TEL staff and seek all other avenues of relief to have the suspension lifted quickly so that the people of Tennessee may continue to enjoy wagering on the Action 24/7 network."
The drama began on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. ET when Action 24/7 posted on Twitter that the site was down for maintenance. On Friday, morning at 9:52 a.m. ET another Twitter post said, “We know the timing is not great, and we appreciate your patience! We've worked through the night to get the issue resolved. We'll be back soon.”

On Friday, according to an ESPN report, an investigation by the state lottery revealed signs of money laundering and credit card fraud on multiple occasions, including bets allegedly placed on the Super Bowl by a proxy for out-of-state customers, a violation of federal law.
Mobile-only regulated sports betting launched in Tennessee back in November and enjoyed the best debut in the history of U.S. legal sports betting, generating more in wagers in the market’s first month than any other state in history.
Action 24/7 is the only locally owned sportsbook operator in the state, which has also seen the likes of DraftKings, William Hill, BetMGM and FanDuel enter the market.
