A heartwarming edition of The Reel Life
7 Oct 2010
According to ESPN, a devout Michigan State football fan is putting off pacemaker surgery so he could see his Spartans take on the Michigan Wolverines this weekend.
Major Hester, 69, said he put off the procedure until next week because he was worried he wouldn't catch the big game if something went wrong.
Both teams are currently undefeated.
"You never know," Hester told The Detroit News. "It's like going into combat. You may come home alive or you may come home dead."
"Whatever happens, I want to see the game," he added.
The Reel Life thankfully doesn't have a heart condition, but it would take quite the freeroll to put life-saving surgery on the backburner. But kudos to Mr. Hester, and we hope the Spartans put together a winning effort this week for his heart's sake.
