A chainsaw edition of The Reel Life

31 Mar 2011

The Reel Life has never been the victim of a cheating loved one. If we ever were, we hope we'd never resort to using a chainsaw.

According to the St. Petersburg Times, a Florida man (surprise!) who found his estranged wife in a hotel room with another man was arrested after he knocked out the room's window with a chainsaw.

Timothy Ray Brooks went to the Best Western hotel in Spring Hill around 3 a.m. and asked the front desk where his wife was. He was carrying a chainsaw at the time. The front desk refused to give out the information, so Brooks left the hotel.

The front desk clerk then heard some banging out outside. When he walked outside, he saw his rear passenger window had been smashed out. A witness said Brooks had punched the windows of the clerk's car with his bare hand.

Brooks eventually made it back into the hotel and found his wife's room. His wife and her male companion "heard loud knocking on the door, then saw Brooks crash through the window, holding a chain saw, which was not running," according to the police report.

Brooks then punched the man three times in the face and left the scene. Brooks was arrested and charged with armed burglary, battery and three counts of criminal mischief.

Once again, The Reel Life would like to salute Florida for continuing to deliver the goods in the news department. Bravo.
