2022 World Series of Poker shatters records in Las Vegas Strip debut

“As this year’s WSOP comes to a close, we reflect on yet another event that exceeded our expectations,” said World Series of Poker Senior Vice President and Executive Director, Ty Stewart. “We are incredibly appreciative of the players who traveled from near and far to make our first year on The Strip an overwhelming success. After 52 years, we are finally a Strip headliner, and this couldn’t be possible without the help of our great Team Members.”
2022 WSOP By the Numbers
In total, the 2022 WSOP live and online bracelet events saw a total of 197,626 entries from over 100 countries with a record-breaking $347,941,800 total prize pool, eclipsing the previous record from 2019 of $293,183,345.
The 2022 Main Event attracted a total of 8,663 entries, making it the second largest Main Event in WSOP history.
The Main Event welcomed participants from 87 countries competing for the $10,000,000 first place prize.
2022 WSOP three highest participatory events: The Housewarming - 20,080 (4th all-time), The Million Dollar Bounty – 14,112 (6th all-time), Colossus – 13,565 (7th all-time).
Although this year’s live tournament is over, the action continues with the return of the WSOP-Circuit (WSOP-C) for its 18th season, with 25 scheduled stops.
