2018 Irish Poker Open schedule released
5 Dec 2017
After two years with no official sponsors, the Irish Poker Open has already secured a number sponsors and partners for 2018, namely partypoker, PaddyPower Betfair, iPoker and Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club, with more to follow.
Online satellites are currently running on the above sites, and package satellites start in iPoker Network in January.
In the two years since taking ownership of the Irish Poker Open, the event has gone from strength to strength under the stewardship of Paul O'Reilly and JP McCann. The Main Event saw record fields in both 2016 and 2017, with 802 and 1,129 players, respectively. This feat was achieved in no small part thanks to many poker clubs, pubs, casinos and online sites who supported the event.
The Irish Poker Open will be hosting a total of 19 days of poker from the four star City West Hotel and Golf resort. In addition to the Irish Poker Open Main Event with €1,000,000 guaranteed, there will be an additional eight Irish Poker Open Championships Events. The full festival will also have a partypoker Grand Prix and the Norwegian Poker Championships.
The partypoker Grand Prix runs from 7-11 March and has a massive €500,000 guaranteed prize pool for just €220.
The much-celebrated Norwegian Poker Championships runs from 17-25 March will see close to 2,000 Vikings take their annual pilgrimage to Ireland in their quest to win one of their eight Norwegian Championship Events.
And the fun doesn't stop at poker — throughout the 19-day event, players will be able to enjoy other activities such as shuffleboard, beer pong, pool, live music, a St. Patrick's Day party and the Cheltenham Race Festival.
