£1 million buy-in event in London

8 Jul 2019

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The richest poker tournament ever held is about to take place in London. The Triton Million Helping Hand for Charity is the flagship event of the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series and will take place from 1 to 3 August in the Grand Ballroom of the London Hilton on Park Lane. The tournament features a £1,000,000 buy-in plus £50,000 donation to charity – the highest buy-in ever in the history of poker.

The £1 million Triton Million is also set to create one of the biggest prize pools of all time, as well as one of the world’s biggest first prizes. Whoever emerges as the champion could earn more in a single tournament than has ever been won at any event anywhere in the world.

The Triton Poker Super High Roller Series, which is being sponsored by partypoker live, will give Londoners a unique chance to see some of the world’s best poker players in action, battling against the world’s biggest high-stakes recreational players. Huge names have already confirmed they will be taking part including multi-millionaire businessmen and top poker pros who are rarely seen competing in in the U.K. These include Triton Ambassadors Tom Dwan and Jason Koon, David Peters, Rui Cao and Bryn Kenney. Between them, these five alone have combined poker winnings of more than £100 million – and many more top pros are set to join them.

The Triton Super High Roller Series, which runs from 31 July to 8 August, has a unique “invitation-only” formula: the only way to secure participation is either to be invited directly by Triton Poker or to be an invitation holder’s nominated guest. The majority of Triton’s invitees are businessmen and women who share just two things in common: they love poker and they have enormous bankrolls. These invitation holders are then permitted to invite one guest to join them at the Series – with their official “plus-ones” likely to include the very best poker players in the world.

Among the recreational players who have already accepted an invitation to play are Hong Kong investor Stanley Choi, Dusk Til Dawn founder Rob Yong, 1978 WSOP Main Event champion Bobby Baldwin, Richard Yong from Malaysia and American entrepreneur Rick Salomon along with Triton Co-Founder Paul Phua.

Triton Ambassador Jason Koon said, “I’ve already taken part in several Triton Poker High Roller Series around the world and can definitely say they are the most exciting poker events I’ve ever played in. I love to play big stakes against tough competition, and no one checks those boxes quite like Triton. The Triton Million in London will be taking the Series to a whole new level as well as raising millions for worthy causes. There has never been a poker tournament with a buy-in of this size before, all the players will be part of poker history. I’m very excited about it! London is one of the most historically rich, beautiful cities in the world – so it’s very fitting that this history-making event will be taking place here in the heart of the city.”
