"Tournament players are hungry for action and quality structures," said Jim Moore, Rivers Casino manager of poker operations. "We have something for every no-limit hold-’em player, and expect full fields because of the demand we see on a nightly basis."
The March mania of poker tournaments comes on the heels of February’s successful Mystery Bounty event that attracted 782 entries for a prize pool of more than $156,000 and another $78,000 in mystery bounties.
As for the Flipamentz, it’s a two-stage event where every player is all in on the first hand. Each table winner makes it into the money round, when the poker will become more conventional.
"Poker players like to gamble, and the Flipamentz starts with all gamble, zero skill," said Moore. "It’s a fun time before the poker gets serious."
