$1,000,000 Main Event guaranteed at WSOP Circuit

8 Jan 2018

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Seminole Casino Coconut Creek and the World Series of Poker (WSOP) will partner for the first time ever beginning February 8 to bring the brand's award-winning Circuit back to the South Florida region.

The 12-day series kicks off with a $300,000 guaranteed opener and is punctuated by a $1,000,000 guaranteed Main Event. In addition to millions of dollars in prizes, up for grabs will be two entries in the WSOP's season-ending $10,000 Global Casino Championship, where players will compete for their share of a prize pool worth at least $1,000,000 and a gold bracelet in this one-of-a-kind televised event.

"The World Series of Poker is the largest and most historic name in the industry," said Seminole Gaming General Manager of Poker Operations Larry Frank. "As we continue to grow our poker brand throughout the state of Florida and globally, the partnership with WSOP proves a natural fit for Seminole Gaming, further establishing our position as a premier destination for top poker play."

Headline events for the WSOP Circuit at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek include:
  • $365 No-Limit Hold'em (Event 2), $300,000 guaranteed 9-11 February.
  • $3,250 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em (Event 9), $100,000 guaranteed 15-16 February.
  • $1,675 Main Event No-Limit Hold'em (Event 10), $1,000,000 guaranteed 16-19 February.
Along with the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Seminole Casino Coconut Creek is one of just two Florida properties to host a WSOP Circuit event, as Seminole Gaming has exclusive rights to the tour in its current season.

"The poker pulse is strong in Florida, and our partnership with Seminole Gaming has helped us expand our brand in the Sunshine State by working with two of its premiere properties," said WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart. "With a $1,000,000 guaranteed Main Event taking place during peak season, the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek series is one of our most anticipated of the year, and we're eager to get cards in the air this February."

The series' $1,675 Main Event provides players two starting flights beginning Friday, 16 February and Saturday, 17 February at 11 a.m. The tournament features a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000 and permits a single re-entry per flight. Day 2 begins Sunday, 18 February at 12 p.m. and the third and final session of play takes place the following day at 12 p.m.

Seminole Casino Coconut Creek guests may also enter for a chance to win a seat into the $1,000,000 guaranteed Main Event. To enter and for complete details, please visit the website.

The Main Event champion will take home a six-figure first prize, a custom gold ring trophy and a $10,000 entry in the Global Casino Championship. In addition, the finale is points eligible in the Seminole Hard Rock Poker (SHRP) Player of the Year race. Following August's Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open, the top points earner goes down as the Player of the Year earning a prize package inclusive of entries in all SHRP Main Event and Championships as well as hotel and dining credits the following season.

Tournament updates for the Main Event and all other gold ring events will be available at both the Seminole Coconut Creek website and WSOP.com. Additional event information, including the tournament schedule, structure sheets, promotions and poker hotel rates, is available at CasinoCoco.
