Call of Duty 4 features shoot'em up bonus round
24 May 2012
Call of Duty 4, based on the incredibly popular video game of the same name, features exploding wilds and a scatter symbol that triggers a bonus feature when three land on the reels.
During the bonus feature, the player gets to participate in a first-person shooting game very similar to the Call of Duty video game series. Each enemy you shoot is worth two, three or four free spins, with a bonus prize awarded for headshots. Five-in-a-row kill streaks are rewarded with an airstrike, which will award a 3x, 4x or 5x multiplier on the free spins. If there is no airstrike, free spins are played with a 2x multiplier. Bonus prizes are also available for destroying cars and barrels. The free spins feature can be hit again during the free spins, however, the feature game will not be paid. Instead, the player is awarded the same number of free spins at the same multiplier.
The soldier wild symbol can occur on its own, or, on any spin, can appear after an explosion caused either by a grenade rolling onto the reels or a soldier running out onto the reels to place an explosive device. All wins that include a wild symbol are paid 2x the normal payout.
The game has subdued audio; there is no background music during normal play, and the spinning of the reels being accompanied by a standard crank sound at the start and a simple quiet sound to let you know each reel is stopping. Wins that occur without a bonus are rewarded with a simple melody. The audio picks up during the exploding bonus, as there is an explosion, and the Call of Duty theme song plays during free spins.
