WSOP returns to Hard Rock Casino Tulsa
24 Jan 2018
The tournament consists of 46 events over 12 days, including a first-ever $1,000,000 guaranteed No-Limit Hold'em Championship event beginning on Thursday, 22 March and concludes Monday, 26 March. WSOP is also holding a $250,000 No Limit Re-Entry event on the first weekend, which features four flights over two days. This year, the stop features 12 official WSOP Circuit Ring events, as well as Seniors' No Limit Hold'em and a ladies' event.
Event buy-ins range from $135 to $2,200. Satellite qualifier buy-ins range from $65 to $275.
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa Circuit event is the 21st stop on the tour that began in August at Harrah's Casino in North Carolina. It is the second WSOP Circuit series hosted by Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa and only one of three to be held in Oklahoma. Last year's event brought more than 7,500 entries from 37 states and three foreign countries. More than $2.5 million was paid out in prize money.
Players will be looking to follow the footsteps of last year's circuit winner, William Berry. The Norman, Oklahoma, resident won $180,806 in the main event, which featured 574 entrants competing for $861,000. The top 63 competitors finished in the money.
Players can qualify for the 2017-18 Global Casino Championship several ways: (a) win a Circuit Main Event at any domestic or international stop; (b) win a "Casino Championship," which is defined as the player at each stop who accumulates the most points throughout the 12-event gold ring schedule at any domestic or international stop; or (c) be one of the top 50 cumulative point earners over the entire season who hasn't otherwise qualified (domestic tour only).
WSOP Circuit Events are a series of poker tournaments hosted throughout the U.S. and throughout the world, beginning in early August each year and culminating the following summer, with a $1,000,000 Global Casino Championship where the victor earns a WSOP gold bracelet.
Guests must be 21 years of age to play. Discounted hotel rooms are available starting at $89 with code WSOP2018.
