Rebecca Liggero

Rebecca Liggero loves meeting new people and traveling – perfect qualities for someone who has won friends and influenced people in the worldwide online gaming community.

After graduating from Bates College with a degree in psychology, Rebecca spent four years in Washington, DC, working in relationship management, dreaming all the while about someday making it big in online gaming. After turning down an opportunity to live in New Zealand, she moved back to Boston and signed on as Senior Account Manager for Casino City – the beginning of a dream come true!

Rebecca’s work on behalf of Casino City (and later for the GPWA as well) took her to trade shows and conferences everywhere – Amsterdam, Barcelona, Costa Rica, Montreal, London, Las Vegas, Macau and many other ports of call – and along the way she began chronicling her incredible around-the-clock adventures in a wildly entertaining and industry-savvy weekly column that quickly became – and still remains – must reading for everyone who is anyone in online gaming. Following almost three years with the Casino City team, Rebecca spent a few months at Everest Affiliates where she was the Brand Manager of the affiliate program. While working on “the other side,” she realized that she truly missed her weekly column and the affiliate side of the business and decided to return to the Casino City family.

One and a half years later, Rebecca resigned from Casino City and joined industry icon Calvin Ayre to serve as the Bodog Global Brand Ambassador and the head on-site reporter for the online gambling industry tablog, CalvinAyre.com. In her new capacity, Rebecca continues to travel the world, and when asked where she is based, her response is usually "on an airplane."

Viva Las Vegas

By Rebecca Liggero

I have been to Vegas over ten times throughout my life, but this might be the most excited I have ever been for a trip to Sin City. I am ready in every way, and here is why. My parents have been giving me a guilt trip about going to see my Grandmother, so seeing as Vegas is coming up, I agreed to make the trip last weekend. Bright and early on Saturday morning, I got in the car with my father, my mother, and the family dog for nice four hour drive to Saratoga, New York. It just so happens that my father recently purchased a new car equipped with a navigation system, so being my father, he wanted to "test out the system" while we drove. If I hear a sexy female voice repeating, "Continue. Driving. Straight on, (pause) I-90 West." one more time, it is possible that I might flip out. Aside from the navigation system situation, the trip really wasn't so bad, and now I can misbehave with a clear conscience in Vegas. After all, I have earned some "extra credit", right?

Aside from paying my dues, there are several other reasons why I am ready for this trip, all a bit more exciting than a trip to Grandma's.

1)Midgets.
Everyone knows that Vegas is full of midgets for hire- just ask Calvin about it. In addition to Calvin, there is a certain Bluff Magazine co-president that really likes midgets, especially when they travel in packs, surround him, and come in actual contact with him. Since we all love Bluff Magazine, do me a favor and direct all midgets that you see towards Eric Morris- he will really appreciate it- and you know what? You might even get a free Bluff mag subscription out of it.

2)Kate from Wager Profits.
If you do not know Kate from Wager Profits/Action Poker Network, than you are really missing out. This lovely lady has become one of my best friends and I will be spending much of my time in Vegas with her. Look out. This could get ugly. You know what's even better? I'm headed down to Costa Rica at the end of the month for an authentic Wager Profits Costa Rica experience, organized by Kate. Look out. This could get even uglier.

3)The Wolf Sanctuary.
Jason, aka "Wolf", from Online Forum Challenge, has promised to take Kate and I for a trip to the Wolf Sanctuary while we are in town. Unbelievable, right? I don't know about you, but I'd take a trip to the Sanctuary with Wolf over a lap dance any day. Hoooowwwwllllllllllll.

4)More Swedes. More sååååja.
Here we go again, my obsession with the Swedes. This time around I will be spending some nice quality time with the boys from Gnuf.biz. Some nice quality time at the clubs, that is. I have never had a dull night with this crew, especially when it involves Vegas, clubs, VIP tables, and large bottles of vodka. Additionally, my good Swedish friend from Poker Host will be in town and playing in the main event- keep your eyes out for Casino City's story on his WSOP experiences- we will be following him around like a hawk. I'm not sure if he is aware, but he will also be coming out with us each night. I hope he can play hung over.

5)Poker.
HA! Ya, right. I don't really care about the poker...that's why Casino City's poker reporters will be there. I'm just in it for the parties, the networking, the strip clubs, the pool, the 115 degree heat, the midgets, and to booze with Todd Leasure from Bluff. Everyone knows that!
