28 Sep 2007

SAN DIEGO, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians today announced the appointment of Lyn Baxter as Chief Executive Officer of Viejas Enterprises, which operates the Tribe's business entities, including Viejas Casino, Viejas Outlet Center, Viejas Entertainment & Production, two RV parks and a bank.

"It is with distinct pleasure that we chose to appoint Lyn Baxter as our new CEO," said Viejas Tribal Chairman Bobby L. Barrett. "Mr. Baxter brings a wealth of experience and a stellar reputation in the gaming industry. This experience will serve Viejas Enterprises well, especially as we embark on our recently announced resort plan."

Mr. Baxter has served as Viejas Enterprises' Chief Operating Officer since 2004. Prior to joining Viejas Enterprises, he was Vice President of Development for Wynn Resorts. Mr. Baxter also served as Vice President of Operations for MGM Grand, Inc. in Las Vegas and President of MGM Grand Detroit Casino.

Since joining Viejas, Mr. Baxter has been instrumental in developing Viejas Casino as one of the most successful tribal government gaming facilities in California. He also assisted in the Tribe's diversification beyond gaming, including the creation of two historic Native American business coalitions that have developed hotels in Washington, D.C., and Sacramento, California.

"I am honored to be appointed as CEO of Viejas Enterprises," said Mr. Baxter. "I have thoroughly enjoyed working for the Viejas Tribe as their COO for the past three years and I am looking forward to strengthening that relationship as we create what will soon become one of the country's premier gaming and entertainment destinations."

Baxter holds a master's degree in economics from the University of Nevada.
