Victor Chandler breaks new ground in Argentina
The historic move is a key development of Victor Chandler's global strategy which has seen the company grow to serve customers in around 160 countries. From next week the company will offer a full range of internet gaming services to Argentina. Alongside the traditional sports betting (vcapuestas.com.ar), which the Chandler name has represented for 60 years, the group will also be launching their rapidly expanding poker (vcpoker.com.ar), casino (vccasino.com.ar) and games (vcjuegos.com.ar) websites in Argentina.
The ground-breaking move was brought about after Victor Chandler and local Partners worked closely with IPLyC (the official licensing authority) in the Province of Misiones in order to offer the full range of betting and gaming products throughout the country of Argentina.
The move comes as rival online gaming companies are left counting the cost of US legislation and legal rulings which have effectively outlawed online gaming in the States and closed down a huge and lucrative market. Unlike a number of UK operators, Victor Chandler took the strategic decision to focus on UK and global markets outside the USA before the crackdown and so has been unaffected by it.
Victor Chandler said: "The move into the Argentinian market is a significant development of our global strategy. There are already strong gaming links in Argentina with existing lotteries, horse racing and the nation's love of football in particular marking it out as a great sporting nation".
"I am delighted to be the first major bookmaker to obtain a legal licence in Argentina and believe the core values of trust, honour and integrity which are the hallmarks of the Victor Chandler name will be recognised and appreciated by the Argentinean people."
"Victor Chandler CEO Michael Carlton commented "This is another significant and exiting opportunity in the expansion of the Victor Chandler group during its 60th anniversary year. Our team have worked hard with the Province of Misiones for some time, and we believe we have found the ideal partner in IPLyC. We look forward to a very successful future in this, our first licence in South America."
The Victor Chandler Group celebrates its 60th Anniversary this year. Initially formed by the current chairman's father in 1946, the organisation has gone from strength to strength and, from its Headquarters in Gibraltar, Europe, now services customers in over 160 countries across the world, in more than 14 different languages.
