UK: Racing and gambling row may require government intervention
3 Sep 2010
LONDON, England -- The deadline for agreement on the racing levy is October 31, 2010, but whether agreement will be reached remains to be seen, The Telegraph reported.
The racing industry want £130-150 million ($200-$230 million), with bookmakers only willing to pay £62 million ($95 million), The Telegraph report said.
If the two side fail to reach consensus the government will intervene and take the decision, The Telegraph reported.
