Uefa suspends referee following 'irregular betting patterns'

LONDON, England -- Irregular betting patterns have prompted UEFA to suspend a Bulgarian referee, Anton Genov according to a report in The Guardian.
The match in question, a friendly betweetn Macedonia and Canada took place November 14.
Suspicion was raised among betting operators when they noticed high volume of wagers on number of penalties and more than three goals, The Guardian reported.
The UEFA investigation continues, according to the report.
