Turning Stone Casino Opens Luxury Hotel
VERONA, New York – As reported by the Associated Press: "The Oneida Indian Nation continued the transformation of its Turning Stone casino into a vacation destination with the opening Friday of a new 19-story luxury hotel.
"The Tower at Turning Stone Hotel _ at 253 feet high, the tallest building between Syracuse and Albany _ is part of a $308 million expansion of the resort complex, located 30 miles east of Syracuse. The resort, which now employs 4,000, will add nearly 1,000 new jobs when complete and its payroll will grow to more than $100 million. The expansion will continue into next year, when a day spa, the last phase of the project, will open.
"The resort complex now includes the casino, a 279-room hotel, a 98-suite inn, an 800-seat showroom, a 5,000-seat events arena, three 18-hole golf courses, two nine-hole courses, and an RV park and campgrounds. Turning Stone had four million visitors last year…"
