LONDON, England -- As reported by the Daily Express: "A series of professional sporting events including top football matches are being investigated by gambling authorities after bookmakers suspected a betting scam by Asian and east European gangs.

"The 27 events being probed include seven football matches, two of which are understood to have been Premier League fixtures, and 11 horse races.
