The Reel Life: Don't shoot your TV edition
24 May 2012
The 32-year-old Port St. Lucie man wanted to shoot his Ruger SR9 at a shooting range, but was told that the ammunition he had was not allowed on the range. So he went home, walked into the garage and shot up an old TV that his son had broken with a baseball bat several years earlier.
Police, who had been called to the scene by neighbors who heard the gunshots, found the gun sitting on the bed, still warm from being fired. The man stated "he didn't know it would be a problem to discharge a firearm inside his own residence," reads the police report. "He stated he was being safe by shooting the TV which was in front of a concrete wall."
Here's a tip, sir. If the shooting range won't let you shoot your gun, it's probably not safe to shoot it in your home.
