The Reel Life: Dead rats in the mail edition
22 Dec 2011
According to WBZ-TV in Boston, an MBTA police officer was suspended this week after he was caught mailing dead rats. Greg Thorpe is accused of putting at least two dead rats in the mail.
As if the story couldn't get weirder, sources told WBZ that the reason Thorpe mailed the rats was due to prostitution. His girlfriend allegedly offered her services on Craigslist, and Thorpe would drive her to appointments in his marked vehicle.
One man didn't pay up, so Thorpe mailed him a little present. He was busted on security video at a UPS customer service center in South Boston.
Thorpe isn't facing any criminal charges at the moment, but WBZ says that may change.
Getting a dead rat in the mail is terrible. But The Reel Life believes what would be truly horrifying is getting a live one. We shudder just thinking about it.
