The Reel Life

20 May 2010

The Reel Life admits we are slots diehards. But we got nothing on a New Mexico woman who went to great lengths to get to her casino.

According to KOAT, an elderly woman named Charlie Martin rode on a motorized scooter on the interstate in hopes of getting to the casino. She said her van broke on the way to the casino, but she wasn't going to let that minor setback get to her.

The problem was the casino was still eight miles away. And her oxygen tank was getting low. After receiving several calls, police were able to track her down at the side of the road.

To be safe, emergency crews took Martin to the hospital to get checked out. But she still planned on making a trip to the slot machines, under one condition.

"If I can get a ride," she said.

The Reel Life applauds that type of fighting spirit.
