Staten Island ties in alleged gambling ring

NEW YORK -- As reported by the Staten Island Advance: "A Brooklyn man who was one of five arrested in an Internet sports gambling ring in New Jersey had ties to Staten Island, according to a published report.

"Peter Carfaro, 26, was arrested along with Richard Todd Burger, a former NFL lineman, Anthony Pecoraro, Stephen Barone and Daniel Alaimo as part of a four-month investigation by the New Jersey State Police and the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office. The four other men are all New Jersey residents.
