Soccer Star Makes Poker Debut

LAS VEGAS , Nevada – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Evergreen Premiership soccer star Teddy Sheringham this week stepped out for his debut in a new sporting world taking on some of the world's top poker professionals in the WPT Mandalay Poker Championship in Las Vegas.

Representing VC Poker.com, Sheringham is competing against some of the world's fastest poker guns in the World Poker Tour's premiere poker tournament for an estimated first prize of US $4 million.

The event follows Teddy's online debut as the ambassador for VC Poker.com in which he has taken on online players from all over the world.

Sheringham, who recently signed a new one-year playing contract with West Ham to secure his place as the oldest striker in Premiership history, has long been acknowledged as one of the more cerebral players in football – a trait that should serve him well in his newest professional sporting endeavour.
