Sky Poker player scoops major prize
24 Jan 2012
Alan1506 - real name Alan Jenkins - is only the second man to have won the Sky Poker Jackpot and interestingly it's now a Welsh double. Jenkins hails from Pontrhydyrun, while Dylan Davies ('dylan12') won the Jackpot back in September from his home in Llandysul. Does this prove the Welsh are the best tournament players in the UK? It will certainly be a talking point on Sky in the coming weeks!
Alan won GBP 405 for taking down the Mini Primo, while the first prize for the Primo itself was an impressive GBP 3415.50. Those winnings partnered by the GBP 6,800 Jackpot meant the Welshman won just over GBP 10,620 for an evening's work!
"I am just ecstatic with the win," said Jenkins. "The missus had to slap me to make sure I wasn't dreaming! I am still in shock but I'm absolutely over the moon. I think the missus might be asking for a holiday soon though!"
Once again the Sky Poker Community was delighted by the win, with Alan a member of the 'Team 51' community team. It was also brilliantly timed, seeing out Sky Poker TV's stint in their current studios ahead of their move to the all-new facilities from 2nd February.
Those who want to become the third player to win the Sky Poker Jackpot need not worry - the Jackpot has been reset to GBP 5,000 and an additional GBP 100 will be added for every week it goes unclaimed. To win it all you have to do is the win the 8pm Main Event and its sibling 'Mini Main' at 8.15pm on skypoker.com. Those who win the Main and make the final table of the Mini will be given a GBP 1,000 Consolation Prize for their efforts.
