Punters tip AVB to last longer at White Hart Lane

6 Jul 2012

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Andre Villas-Boas has been confirmed as the new Tottenham Hotspur manager and already punters are betting on how long the 34-year-old will last in his latest role. The former Chelsea boss can be backed at 8/1 to be sacked before Christmas according to Boylesports, but punters reckon he will last longer at White Hart Lane.

The Irish firm are offering odds of 1/2 that he is still in charge on the first day of the 2013/14 season, while it’s 6/4 he is not. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy holds AVB in high regard, and Boylesports have installed him at 12/1 to be named Manager of the Year.

His new club finished fourth in the Premier League last season, and Boylesports go 15/8 that they finish in the top four again. However, their cabinet is 1/8 to remain trophyless for another season.

“Villas-Boas has certainly made a dramatic return to the Premier League after his dismissal from Chelsea, but the question is will he be able to build upon Redknapp’s legacy? His main aim will be to restore Spurs to the Champions League which won’t be an easy task,” commented Nicola McGeady, Boylesports PR Spokesperson.
