Problem gambler sues BCLC over lost jackpot

26 Jul 2010

BRITISH COLUMBIA, Canada -- A self excluded problem gambler is suing the B.C Lottery Corp. for refusing to let him keep a jackpot he won, CBC News reported.

Mike Lee was allowed to continue gambling, even though he had self-excluded through the Voluntary Self-Exclusion program, the report said.

Lee won several small jackpots over the past three years, but in January he won a $40,000 jackpot at a Cowichan casino that he was denied, according to the CBC.

BCLC apparently cited a rule that was made subsequent to the Voluntary Self-Exclusion order signed, CBC noted.
