Poker players chip in to help city refuge hit the jackpot

DUBLIN, Ireland -- Poker players are assisting a refuge that provides hot meals for the poor and unemployed and has seen demand for its services double in the last year, The Irish Independent reported.
300 poker players are to participate in a tournament in Dublin this weekend and €20 from every entry will be donated to the Capuchin centre, the report said.
The Capuchin centre has, since the economic downturn in Ireland, been serving 200 breakfasts, 450 dinners daily and handing out 1000 food parcels each week and is very short of funds, the Irish Independent reported.
