Players get the chance to knock out Holyfield

28 Jul 2010

LONDON, England -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Real Deal Poker is giving poker players a chance to go heads up with five-time Heavyweight Champion of the World, Evander 'Real Deal' Holyfield during this year's Poker in the Park festival in London on 2nd September. Holyfield will play the winner of a series of qualifier tournaments to be held at RealDealPoker.com throughout the summer. RealDealPoker.com is the only online poker room to use actual playing cards dealt and shuffled by a machine rather than the usual computerized RNG.

Real Deal Poker's live "Beat the Champ" game will be a highlight of this year's Poker in the Park festival, the annual celebration of all things poker held in Leicester Square, London. Thousands will be on hand to see Evander "Real Deal" Holyfield in the game that will be the culmination of summer long tournaments.

Players can work their way up through a series of Lightweight and Middleweight online qualifiers (buy-in starting at €1.60 + .15) or they can buy right into the Heavyweight ring (€100 + 9). The winner of the online final will face Holyfield in London for "Beat the Champ" heads up poker on the felt, where thousands of spectators will be on hand to witness this historic event.

The Heavyweight Final will have a standard payout structure and Real Deal Poker will match the first place prize money. The winner of the heads up match will receive 75% of the total prize purse.

"I've played a lot of poker growing up, but not much at this competitive level," Holyfield commented. "Just like boxing, I will have to train for this fight, just a little differently. Poker is a more of a mental game, and I will be focused, ready and down to my fighting weight for this match."
