OpenBet collaborates with Betfair for fixed odds gaming platform
22 May 2012
OpenBet is providing the underlying sportsbook technology that will allow Betfair to offer its customers a fixed odds betting alternative to the existing Exchange for the first time. The new fixed odds betting capability, provided by OpenBet, will allow Betfair to compete on the minority of markets where it has historically been less competitive.
Today's announcement sees Betfair further extend its relationship with OpenBet. In 2008, OpenBet was chosen to provide Betfair with the technical infrastructure for the Betfair Arcade offering and in 2011, Betfair opted for OpenBet?s market-leading B2B back-end platform to manage their mobile sports-betting capabilities.
Ian Chuter, Group Operations Director of Betfair, said: "We have had a long and productive relationship with OpenBet and they were a logical partner to work with to introduce a fixed odds betting element to our offering.”
“Our next-generation sports product will complement our exchange and enable us to offer competitive prices on markets that previously we were unable to offer or were only very illiquid. Our customers will now have no reason to bet anywhere else.”
David Loveday, Chief Executive Officer of OpenBet, commented: "This is another example of how OpenBet works with its customers to enhance their overall product offering. After many years of working together, OpenBet is proud to be part of Betfair's biggest innovation since it was first launched.”
