Newsagent makes the headlines after scooping £345,000 from the bookies

16 May 2011

Peter Brown, who works for a newsagent in Torquay, is set to make the headlines today following his £345,253.05 win on the William Hill online's game, Leprechaun's Luck. The 44 year old father played a £1 spin on the popular slot game and turned it into the mammoth total.

Mr. Brown, who opened his account with William Hill in 2001, is one of the biggest all-time winners on William Hill Online. The plucky player follows a long list of British players who have won big jackpots on William Hill Vegas including a London woman who bagged £420,000 in September 2010.

"I’m still in shock, I just can’t believe it" said a delighted Mr. Brown, "When it came up on the screen that I’d won – I thought I was dreaming – and it wasn’t until someone from William Hill rang to congratulate me that it started to sink in."

"My father in-law is Irish and when I told him I’d won £345,000 on a game called Leprechaun’s Luck - he thought I was pulling his leg. We’ll be raising a pint of Guinness to William Hill over next few days."

"I’m not sure what I’m going to do with the money, but I fancy buying a new Jeep and maybe a brand new 3D TV."

"Peter definitely has the luck of the Irish," said William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny, "To turn £1 into £345,253.05 is just phenomenal."

"We’re delighted for Peter and we’d like to wish him all the best with his new found fortune."
