National Lottery owner Camelot sold to Canada teachers

ENGLAND AND CANADA -- The Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan has purchased Camelot, the British National Lottery operator, the BBC recently reported.

The sale will need to be examined by the regulator and will take three months, the BBC said.

The Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan sees the bid as a long term investment and has other British investments including airports.

Camelot, awarded a licence to run the lottery for a further ten years last year, has seen lottery ticket sales rise lately, the BBC noted.
