CONNECTICUT -- As reported by the Connecticut Day:"City and Mohegan Tribal Council members held a celebratory press conference this afternoon to mark the tribe's first installment to the $1 million Sachem Fund created a year ago to help fund economic development and cultural programs in the city.
"The Norwich City Council and the Mohegan Tribal Council each have agreed to contribute $200,000 per year for five years to the fund, for a combined total of $1 million. The fund now has $400,000, with the first installments by both government entities..."
