Littlewoods Bingo wins TV ad case
19 Jan 2009
ENGLAND -- As reported by Bingo News: "Littlewoods Bingo has prevented its TV ad being taken off air after the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) found in favour of the bingo operator.
"A single complaint had been made to the ASA that an advertisement for Littlewoods Bingo encouraged irresponsible gambling because it implied players could win large sums on multiple occassions.
"...In the ruling, the ASA dismissed the complaint, saying: "Clearcast said they did not consider the ad misleading because St Minver Ltd (St Minver) had supported the claims made for the number and amount of the payouts.
"...Littlewoods Bingo can continue to run their TV advertising..."
