Jake Cody finishes second at GUKPT Grand Final
5 Dec 2011
After agreeing a deal with his opponent when heads-up, the Triple Crown star collected £115,000 for his runner-up finish, increasing his lifetime live poker tournament earnings to more than £2 million. The performance sees the young Brit rise to 13th in the GB All Time Money List and he also ends the year as one of the world's top 50 earners in the live tournament arena. The 23-year old now heads to Dublin in January for the PKR.com WPT Ireland, where he will seek to add his name to a select roll call of multiple WPT title holders.
Also participating in the event were fellow Team PKR Pros Vladimir 'Beyne' Geshkebein, Sofia 'wellbet' Lovgren, James 'james666' Sudworth, who reached the final table of this event in 2010 and Scott 'PKR_Scott' Shelley. Despite Shelley’s elimination on Day 1 at the GUKPT, the WSOPE bracelet winner went on to enjoy success online later in the weekend, finishing fifth in the Sunday Million for $58,000.
