Fox Poker Club is new home for £200,000 Genting Poker Series Grand Final

The Fox played host to a sensational second leg of the GPS back in April, when a massive 580 entries generated a main event prize pool of £232,000 and paid the top 60 players, including more than £50,000 to the winner, 72-year-old Albert Sapiano.
Genting has recently completed a refurbishment of The Fox Poker Club, London’s biggest dedicated poker venue. Moving the GPS Final to the West End venue means it will to accommodate the large field expected for the £200,000 main event and will also enable the addition of an array of side events and cash games to turn it into a real weeklong poker festival. The side events added include numerous Hold’em tournaments, Pot Limit Omaha and a £5,000 entry High Roller event expected to attract the cream of poker professionals.
Fox Marketing Manager Nick Van de Weyer is excited about bringing the Final back to The Fox: “Leg 2 at the Fox earlier this year was such an amazing event that it was oversubscribed and we are glad that the Series has continued to make waves across the country before returning to London for this Grand Final. This move is essential to accommodate the mixture of U.K. and International players who are expected to attend both the Main Event, cash games and side events which include a High Roller event for the first time in the Series.”
Genting Poker and Hendon Mob player Joe Beavers certainly thinks the switch is a good move as well, saying: “I love the Palm Beach but the Fox is something special to me for many reasons (and it's not just the hot dogs). It is great to hear that the GPS Grand Final will now be held there in December. As London's only dedicated poker club it will be able to cope better with the large number of players that converge on London's West End for this much anticipated tournament.”
After the recent online leg won by free roll qualifier Keith Bartholomew, the Genting Poker Series returns to a club location in November, when Genting's brand-new, multi-million-pound club in Sheffield plays host. The club was officially opened by Olympic Gold medallist and Sheffield’s pinup girl Jessica Ennis. Once again the winner of the main event will receive a seat in the Grand Final.
