First four players win WSOP prize at Americas Cardroom

6 Jun 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The big 50-package guarantee for the World Series of Poker Main Event is still about a month away, but that hasn't stopped players from winning their seat into the world's most exciting poker tournament. Americas Cardroom today confirmed that four players won a $12,500 package over the weekend through the World Series of Jackpots and new WSOP Buck Hunt promotion.

"Pack your bags for Vegas, because you could win your $12,500 package before you know it," stated Michael Harris, spokesperson for Americas Cardroom. "We just gave away four packages through two big promotions, and we won't be shocked if the next big win happens any second."

On Friday afternoon, online poker players Danny356, NHtoCali and 0Byte were the recipients of the first three $12,500 WSOP packages. They each bought into a $30 World Series of Jackpots game and hit the jackpot. With all other prize levels in this game, the three players play out the tournament, with the winner securing the first place cash prize. But when the jackpot hits, all three players walk away with a $12,500 World Series of Poker prize package.

The big win was followed by another victory at a $1/$2 cash table. While playing, a flying chip jumped around the table. Player Full5Speed was the first one to click it, and the $12,500 World Series of Poker package was revealed as the prize. Full5Speed also left with bragging rights as the first WSOP Buck Hunt promotion winner.

World Series of Jackpots and WSOP Buck Hunt winners are completely random, so it's not clear when the next ones will be crowned. But there will be at least 50 package winners on Sunday, 2 July at 3 p.m. ET. That's the date of Americas Cardroom's 50-package guarantee. The $500 + 40 qualifier features at least 50 WSOP packages worth $12,500 apiece. Each includes $10,000 for the Main Event buy-in and $2,500 for travel and accommodations.

Leading up to 2 July's 50-package guarantee, players can win their $540 buy-in for much less through Step tournaments, daily satellites and MEGA satellites.
